Japan Travel Tips

Japan Travel by

Richmond Difuntorum Cruz

I'm currently doing my 2nd Japan trip. This is my dream destination kaya after ako mabigyang Single entry visa last December I applied for another visa and this time I was granted a 5 year multiple entry kahit na wala akong ITR. I'm a solo, bugetarian and diy traveller.

Tips:
1. Find cheap airfare. Ito mga airlines na laging mura ang airfare to Japan. I always plan ahead kaya mga airfares ko is piso based fare lang. Ito ang mga airlines kung saan mura ang airfare based on destination

Cebupac - Fokouka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka
Airasia - Osaka
Jetstar - Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo
2. Find discount/coupon for your Train Passes and Tours. Maghintay kayo ng mga promo nila. Train passes is a must have kapag nasa Japan kayo kasi mahal ang train fares. Since solotraveller I also book joined tour lalo na yung mga places na impossible na mai-DIY but yung mga within the city lang basta kaya magtrain or bus I used to go there DIY.

Where to book: Ito yung palaging may promos. I was able to get 1K off before sa Train passes ko.
KKDay App
Klook App
Traveloka App
3. Find hotels with good amenities. Ibang level ang mga hostel and hotels sa Japan. Super comfortable and full amenities pero kailangan nyo pa din mag research based s mga hotel reviews na balak nyo ibook.
I suggest Agoda or Booking .com. Use the book now and pay later option. Minsan balikan nyo yung booking nyo kasi minsan mas bumababa ang presyo then magcancel and rebook kayo. Twice ko na yan nagawa ang I save few hundreds bec of that. But make sure di pa kayo pasok sa may dates na may penalty na kpag nagcancel.
I was able to book a hotel in Osaka that also provide smartphone with unli data that you can bring during your entire stay. It is also a must have na may internet kayo for directions and also simple search pero maraming free wifi access sa Japan even sa trains and buses.
Book with breakfast sa Hotel booking nyo dahil so far di pa ako nadisappoint sa mga hotel/hostels buffet breakfast ko.
Wag na din kayo maggdala ng toiletries kasi from shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, comb, shaver, cotton buds, towels, hair blower and some also provide facial and scalp care as well.
4. During winter kunting damit lang at jacket ang dalin nyo kasi madami din outlet stores and sale sa Japan. Pero kung wala naman budget for shopping i suggest at wala kayong baggage allowance you can bring less clothes para may space pa din kayo for some pasalubong. Hotel also provide pangtulog clothes. Hehe Hotel coin laundry will only cost you 300 jpy for wash and 100 jpy for dry. Kapag winter more jacket less clothes na dalin.
5. Di rin kayo maggutom kasi nagkalat ang convenience stores, Lawsons, Family mart and 7evelen is in every corner pati mga vendo machines. 100jpy for drinks products.
6. Wag nyo kalimutan bumili ng Royce chocolates at Tokyo milk cheese kasi sobrang mura dito (airport after immigration) at dumaan sa Rinku Premium Outlet wag kayo mamili sa Dotonbori at Shinsaibashi shopping street mahal pa din dun. ðŸ˜ŠðŸ‘Œ
7. Better ang exchange rate sa airport kaya pagbaba nyo dun na kayo magpalit
